Dir Horticulture pays surprise visit to south Kashmir
Director Horticulture Aijaz Bhat on Thursday has paid a surprise visit to Pulwama and Shopian Districts where he and field staff have taken samples and checked pesticides which is being sold in the market to Farmers.
According to reports In Pulwama, many shops have been checked and samples taken from these shops by horticulture departments.

when asked about the Scab problem this year he said that due to cloudy weather Scab has surfaced on the apple Crop.” in our notice many complaints came and we have taken necessary action and have Deputed different teams in the valley to check the License and Selling products in the markets and fortunately we have not found anything substandard “Ahmad added.
Director also visits Different locations of the twin Districts and had interacted with farmers there. He also met Civil society members of the District shopian and seek their cooperation for flourish quality control. civil society members also Requested Director to establish a Pesticide control board, he(Ahmad) assured them that Govt is looking best for the farmers.
It is worth mentioning here that for the last many years there are complaints about Scab due to sub-standard pesticides, Department of Horticulture under the supervision of Aijaz Ahmad is taking all measures to check the products which are being sold in the markets.(KNS)
