DGP,DC among many officers to pay homage to DSP Aman, killed in Kulgam gunfight
A wreath laying ceremony was held at District Police Lines, Srinagar to pay homage and respect to “DySP Aman Kumar who was killed in a gunfight with the militants in Kulgam on Sunday. Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir Dilbag Singh has paid tributes to DySP Aman Kumar Thakur who was killed in a gunfight with the militants in Kulgam on Sunday. “We pay rich tributes to our colleague Martyr DySP Aman Kumar Thakur for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty today at Kulgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this critical juncture,” said a police spokesman.
DySP Aman Kumar was a 2011 batch KPS Officer who was leading from the front in this operation, he said.
“DySP Aman Kumar was known for his simplicity, plain speaking and thorough professionalism and was known for his determination and valour. In a short period of time he had earned love, respect and appreciation of the locals in the area for his helpful nature and professionalism,” said the spokesman.
Civil & Police Officers led by DGP J&K Police Dilbagh Singh-IPS, IGP Ops CRPF Zulfikar Hassan-IPS, Div Com Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, IGP Kashmir S. P. Pani, IG CRPF Shri Ravideep Sahai, Range DIsG, DC Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains & paid rich tributes to Kumar, said the spokesman.
A resident of Gogla in Doda district, DySP Aman Kumar is survived by aged parents, wife Sarla Devi and a six-year-old son Arya.
