PULWAMA, DECEMBER 23: Following the release of the list of ineligible/eligible beneficiaries after a marathon exercise of 5 months, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Dr. Raghav Langer today reviewed the verification process in presence of committee heads.

On the occasion, the DDC said that the re-verification process was very vital as there was a huge public demand regarding the purging of bogus beneficiaries from the NFSA list.

He said it has been found that many persons belonging to the exclusion category being Govt employees, businessmen and landlords are reaping the benefits of AAY/PHH categories.

He added that it was imperative to carry out an exercise for weeding out of ineligible households from the list of AAY/PHH/Non PHH and incorporating of the eligible households in the list of AAY/PHH/Non-PHH/exclusion category

The DDC said that extra caution is being taken before the list is made public and a proper mechanism is in place to redress grievances. He said the district administration is committed towards equitable and inclusive governance and people are appealed to report any arbitrariness to the Administration.

Meanwhile, a 3 tier committee was reconstituted to weed out ineligible beneficiaries and include eligible ones as per criteria under NFSA. The district-level committee was given the mandate of collecting and segregating the data as per criteria notified by the government besides monitoring and digitization of data.

Whereas the tehsil level committee was to ensure the submission of authentic and correct data besides generating maximum awareness about the verification process.

Organization of Gram Sabha and receiving objections besides identification and recommendation of eligible households for inclusion and exclusion accordingly has been entrusted to the village level committee.
