DDC election: 15.06% votes polled in Tral block amid tight security, shutdown, internet clampdown

Tral, 01 December: Amid tight security, shutdown, and internet clampdown, DDC election in Tral block was held peacefully on Tuesday, with 15.06% votes.

The votes in around 60 booths were cast by 3981 out of 26661 voters in total.

As per the official figures, 16 percent of votes were cast by men, and 13 percent of votes were cast by women.

Pertinently,  Karmulla villages recorded the highest number of votes in the Tral block, while around 8 booths (particularly in Nowdal, Midoora, Rathsuna, Sherabad & Pinglish) have witnessed 0% votes.

The voters talking to the Arising State have said that they have cast their votes in favour of the candidate, who will help them in developing their areas, with all the basic facilities.

One of the voters Mohammad Ramzan told Arising State that “in order to get relief from day to day sufferings”, he is going to cast his vote to the candidate, who he thinks will help them in getting the issues redressed and solved.

A CRPF officer told Arising State that security forces were deployed in nook and corner of Tral block ahead of polling, to ensure voting process in a peaceful manner.

Moreover, ADC Tral SA Raina visited many polling stations to ensure the facilities available for the polling staff.

The Tral block however observed a complete shutdown, while internet service was suspended for around 24 hours.

In the third phase of the DDC election, voting will be held in the Aripal block of Pulwama on 4th of December.
