Dangling electric wires pose threat to lives in Awantipora’s village

Tral,10 June : Dangling electric wires tied with trees, worn-out wires are posing grave threat to the lives of people in Noorpora village in Awantipora area of South Kashmir.
The residents of Pethgam locality in Noorpora village , Thursday, alleged that they are living under constant threat due to low lying electric wires tied with trees in their village. They said that the high winds bring down dangling electric wires posing risk to life and property .
They said that concerned authorities have failed to install electric poles in the area despite repeated pleas by the residents of the area.
One of the locals namely Junaid Ahmad told Arising State that they have approached concerned officials several times about the pathetic condition of power lines, but their pleas fell on deaf ears.
The locals demanded restoration of electricity system in their area at the earliest.
