Crescent not sighted, Eid on Saturday: Grand Mufti Nasir
Srinagar, Mar 19 Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam has announced that the crescent was not sighted anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday and Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Saturday. He said no credible reports of moon sighting were received by the official moon-sighting committee. “With the crescent not sighted this evening, Edi-Ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday,” the Grand Mufti said.
The committee, which includes Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, confirmed the decision after reviewing inputs from various districts. Muslims across J&K will celebrate Eid on Saturday
