Chairman Parliament committee writes to LG, seeks personal indulgence in CIC operators regularisation

Srinagar: The Parliament Standing Committee Chairman, T G Venkatesh who recently visited Jammu and Kashmir has written to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha demanding his personal intervention regarding the matter of regulation of 172 CIC operators to sort out the issue.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee visited Jammu and Kashmir in January last month from 21st to 23rd and met various delegations who raised their concerns with hope for early redressal.In a written letter addressed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, the chairman of Parliament standing committee, T G Venkatesh has sought his  personal indulgence to regularise services of CIC operators.

 “I write this letter to bring to your kind notice that during the visit of the committee to Srinagar from 21st to 23rd January 2021, a group of CIC operators working in  Rural Development Department met the committee and requested us to take up the issue of regularization of them which is long pending with the administration.”

“I seek your personal indulgence in the matter to sort out this issue”, the chairman said in the letter.

The letter from the chairman of the parliamentary standing committee comes over a month after the visit J&K is seen as a breather among 172 CIC operators hoping that the Lieutenant Governor’s administration will take up the matter on an urgent basis and regularise their services.

Meanwhile, Ishfaq Malik a representative of the CIC operators told that they were recruited in 2003-04 under the due government norms and procedure at the district level following which in 2014 a cabinet decision was taken for their regularisation.”In 2016 in another cabinet order 172 posts as DEO’s were created. In 2017 all the files of 172 CIC operators were forwarded to the Finance Department and then a high-level committee recommended our formal regulations to RDD in 2017″, he said. “All the files are pending with the Rural Development Department (RDD) for attention.”Another CIC operator while requesting the administration for speedy work in the pending files said that all the highly qualified individuals are facing different challenges in regular life and the government must initiate concrete steps for their regularisation at the earliest.The CIC operators have urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to personally track the matter for early resolution.
