Celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohtsav’ NHAI Organized a Plantation Drive

Srinagar, 12 July: Under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) PIU-Srinagar organized a day long plantation drive on Wednesday.

Under this initiative, NHAI PIU-Srinagar planted around one thousand saplings during the day at Galander, Pulwama Ch. 276.000 to Ch. 277.000 & at Mir Bazar, Anantnag at Ch. 252.000 to Ch. 253.000.

Shri Indresh Kumar DGM (Tech) cum Project Director NHAI PIU-Srinagar graced the occasion and started the planted drive by planting a sapling along with Commandant, CRPF 110Bn and other senior NHAI officials.

This plantation drive was a part of a nationwide drive that NHAI has organized to mark the Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence under the guidance of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways which is celebrated on Pan India basis by different units of NHAI in order to spread the message of Environment sustainability.

NHAI’s vision is to saturate plantations along the National Highways collectively by involving Concessionaires, State Government agencies, Private Plantation Agencies, Women SHGs through State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs) and Forest & Horticulture experts.
