Candidates fooled in the name of “Job fair” in Anantnag

Anantnag,10 March: A job fair was organized by the Skill Development Department at the Industrial Training Institute inAshajipora of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district today.
The event was presided over by DC Anantnag Anshul Garg as the chief guest and was also attended by ADC Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, Joint Director Skill Development, Farooq Ahmad Khan , Principal ITI , Muzafar Ahmad and officers of DIC.
A group of local industrialists had set up stalls to provide employment opportunities to youth.
However, the candidates expressed their displeasure with the concerned authorities and said that they were being fooled in the name of employment.
The candidates alleged that despite the bad weather, they participated in the job fair so that they could explore employment opportunities. However,to their dismay only local stalls were set up ,not a single national or international company’s stall was present at the fair complained candidates.
The participants termed the job fair as a “flop show” and said that “it does not benefit the unemployed youth.
The fair witnessed the participation of several local organizations and several were offered on-the-spot-jobs.
The job fair was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Skill Development Department on Wednesday for ITI (Industrial Training Institute)-trained unemployed youth from Anantnag District.
