The Jammu and Kashmir cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, has approved the Lieutenant Governor’s speech for the Assembly session and directed ministers to address unemployment as a priority within their respective departments.
Minister Javed Rana stated that the Chief Minister called unemployment a “grave issue” and urged immediate action. “We will fulfill everything promised in the election manifesto. It has only been a month since our government took charge, and in the next two months, we will ensure visible progress,” the CM assured.
To expedite employment generation, job vacancies have been referred to the Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Service Selection Board (SSB), aiming to accelerate the recruitment process and provide new opportunities.
The construction of a new Assembly complex was also discussed as a significant project symbolizing progress and functionality. Additionally, the meeting reviewed preparedness for the challenges posed by impending snowfall, with measures being planned to mitigate potential disruptions.
