Budgam Police celebrates ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ with ‘Run for Unity’ event

Budgam 31st Oct: In commemoration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas/National Unity Day, District Administration Budgam and Budgam Police organized a “Run for Unity” event today, promoting national unity and integrity among the community.

The event, which commenced at 8:30 AM, saw over 600 students from various schools within the district enthusiastically participate. Hundreds of members of civil society also participated in the event. The run covered a distance of over 3 kilometres, beginning at Budgam Railway Station and concluding at Zehra Park Budgam.

Distinguished guests and dignitaries, including DC Budgam, SSP Budgam, ADC Budgam, Chief Education Officer Budgam, DYSP Hqrs, DYSP DAR, SHO Budgam, and other police officers, graced the occasion. SSP Budgam emphasized that the “Run for Unity” was organized to foster national unity and integrity and to nurture the youth’s sportsmanship spirit.

During the closing ceremony at Zehra Park Budgam, prizes were awarded to the top runners of the event.

DYSP Hqrs Budgam, accompanied by ADC Budgam, CEO Budgam, and SHO Budgam, distributed mementos and certificates to the winners and administered the Rashtriya Ekta pledge to all participants.

Officers expressed their gratitude to all participants for their valuable contribution to the event’s success.

They also highlighted the significance of Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s legacy and the importance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, stressing that every individual in the district should actively contribute to the nation’s integrit
