BSF Troops Foil Infiltration Bid Along IB in Jammu, Intruder Neutralised
Jammu, April 5 : The Border security forces BSF on Saturday said that alert Border Security Force (BSF) troops foiled an infiltration attempt along the International Border (IB) in the Jammu sector on the intervening night of April 4 and 5 by neutralising an intruder who ignored repeated warnings.
According to BSF officials, the troops deployed at the border fence noticed suspicious movement from across the border. An intruder was seen attempting to cross the IB. Despite being challenged multiple times, the individual continued to advance toward Indian territory, prompting the BSF personnel to take action in self-defence.
“Sensing a serious threat, our troops neutralised the intruder,” said the Public Relations Officer (PRO), BSF Jammu. The identity of the deceased and the motive behind the infiltration attempt are currently being investigated.
A strong protest is being lodged with the counterpart, BSF added, stressing the seriousness of the breach.
Security agencies are maintaining a high alert across border areas, especially in view of frequent infiltration attempts aimed at disturbing peace in the region.
