Bodies of trio on way’ confirmed DC Rajouri
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Saturday confirmed that the bodies of trio locals killed in a fake encounter in Shopian on July 18 are on way and will reach the village later in the day.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri said that the bodies of the trio have been exhumed and are on way to Rajouri. He said bodies will reach to their homes later in the day.
He said district administration Rajouri has submitted its requisition to Shopain and then Baramulla administration which ensured the exhumation of the trio and their transportation to here.
He added I along with the Senior Superintendent of Police are going to reach the village for taking stock of the situation.
Pertinently authorities on Friday late night exhumed three youths of Rajouri who were killed during an encounter that happened on July 18 this year in Amshipora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district. However, after thorough and separate investigations into the case by Army and Police, it was found that the trio were innocent civilians.
According to Kashmir News Service the families of the trio— Abrar Ahmed (25), Imtiyaz Ahmed (20) and Mohammed Ibrar (16)—were given permission from Deputy Commissioner Rajouri and they met the authorities in Baramulla to take forward the process, official told KNS.
The bodies were later exhumed at around 10:30 p.m and handed over to the families. The families will now carry the bodies to native villages and bury them there.
Army while probing the matter had said that during the Amshipora encounter powers vested under AFSPA were exceeded while DGP Dilbagh Singh few days told reporters that investigations into the case has been entered into final stage.
Meanwhile, reports said that security has been beefed up in the entire district of Rajouri for maintenance of law and order
