Block Diwas is a platform to connect with People: DDC Pulwama

Block Diwas witnessed distribution of Sporting kits, Domicile certificates, income certificates Job Cards, KCC Cards & Labour Cards and driving licences

Pulwama 07 April: Block Diwas is a platform to connect with people, stated Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary, District Development Commissioner Pulwama, while speaking to a huge gathering of people at town hall Pampore.

As per a press release, DDC Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary today spent the whole day in Block Pampore and redressed hundreds of grievances on the spot.

He was accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora, Tehsildar Pampore, BDO Pampore and all other District officers.

On the occasion, DDC said that Block Divas is a regular feature now and appealed people to become active participants so that the issues of daily importance are redressed in the minimum possible time.

He urged upon officers to complete the works within the shortest possible time.

The DDC directed the concerned Officers to exhort for decongestion of Pampore town besides declaring the hospital zone a No – Parking zone.

He appealed people to register for COVID vaccination and be the agents in mitigation of COVID pandemic.

He further said vaccination is open to people of age group of above 45 and those we with specified Comorbidities.

The deputy commissioner also directed the concerned Officers to be proactive and remain accessible to the people so that the purpose of the initiative is fulfilled.

As per him, an Electoral Photo Identity Card ( EPIC) counter has been introduced in the Block Diwas and issues related to electoral registration shall be redressed besides counters for registration under JK – Sehat Scheme.

He added that registration Counter and help desks for COVID vaccination has been introduced in block Diwas at all designated locations in Pulwama.

During the Public hearing various Delegations, Individuals, Deputations from Panchayats apprised the DDC about the issues pertaining to the different departments including Health, Education, Horticulture, Agriculture, Jal Sakti, RDD, R&B, Power Deptt, Social Welfare, ICDS and other sectors.

The delegations also raised the issues regarding the provision of various services like revenue extracts, domicile certificates, caste certificates, dependency certificates, registration for various individual benefit schemes including social Security schemes for Old age pensions, handicap pensions, scholarships  and submitted memorandum of demands pertaining to their respective Panchayat Halqas.

Block Divas was held also held in block Tral and Pulwama, where detailed discussion was held regarding different development projects besides issues being faced by the common masses of different panchayats, where  designated officers including  ADC Tral and ADC Pulwama besides other district and sectoral officers listened the demands and issues of the people.

On the occasion, many grievances were solved on the spot and rest were forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt redress through an established tracking system.
