BJP leader shot dead at his residence in Anantnag

Unidentified gunmen on Saturday night shot dead a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party in Verinag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

According to reports unidentified gunmen barged inside the house of Gul Muhammad Mir (60) alias Atal in Verinag and fired upon him, leaving him critically injured.

They said Mir was rushed to district hospital Anantnag where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Mir, according to reports, was Anantnag district Vice President of the BJP.He had unsuccessfully contested assembly polls from Dooru constituency in 2008 and 2014.
