Bharat Jodo Yatra suspended as police arrangements completely collapsed: Rahul Gandhi

Srinagar, Jan 27 : Congress leader and Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi on Friday alleged that they had to suspended the Bharat Jodo Yatra as police arrangements completely collapsed and his security people got uncomfortable to continue.

Addressing a hurriedly called press conference at Dak Bangalow in Khanbal area of Anantnag, Rahul Gandhi said it was important for the police to manage the crowd but the arrangements completely collapsed.

He said this morning they had quite a large crowd that gathered, but unfortunately the police arrangement completely collapsed and his security people got uncomfortable to continue,

“So we had to cancel the Yatra for the day. It’s the responsibility of administration to guarantee the role of Police but I hope this would not happen tomorrow and day after tomorrow,” he said.

He said people who were supposed to manage the crowd were nowhere to he seen .
