Bear caught in Mawer village

Wildlife department on Saturday caught a bear in Audoora village of Mawer Handwara in north Kashmir after hectic efforts.
According to reports, a team of wildlife officials caught a bear after they received several complaints regarding the presence of a bear in the area and today a team of wildlife department after strenuous effort caught the bear.
Earlier the bear has injured an elderly man and created havoc among the local resident of the area.
An official of wildlife department told KNS that several complaints were received from the area regarding the presence of the bear in the Manzpora and adjoin villages a team of professionals was deputed to the area to catch the bear and today they got success to catch the animal.
He further said due to dense crops in the area it was very difficult to catch the bear but the team deputed to the area caught the animal professionally and without injuries to anyone.
Meanwhile, locals of the area told that there is only one office for the wildlife department at Sopore and has demanded wildlife sub-office in Handwara and Kupwara .
