Barricades put up at Dalgate area by R&B Dept after the road caved in

Barricades were put up by the R&B department at Dalgate area  where a portion of the Boulevard Road had caved in yesterday affecting traffic movement in the area. The road caved in near Badyari Chowk when traffic was plying on the road.

Two motorcyclists also fell into the lake however, both of them were rescued from the water body along with their two-wheelers as per reports. The road stretch had developed cracks a few days ago.

While Chief Engineer Roads & Buildings (R&B) department, Shaukat Jeelani Pandit told a local daily that the incident was caused by the flow of water inside the base of the road. Pandit further said that there were many small damaged and vulnerable patches all along the Boulevard road. “It is likely that the damage was more intense at the spot and it couldn’t take it any longer,” he added.
