Baramulla Police Intensifies Anti-Drug Campaign with Cannabis Eradication Drive in Isham Village of Uri

Uri Baramulla : As part of its ongoing anti-narcotics initiative, the Baramulla Police conducted a significant operation in Asham village, located within the jurisdiction of Police Post Uroosa. The drive targeted wild cannabis (bhang) plants growing along roadsides and on state-owned land near Nallah Asham, covering approximately 4 kanals
The operation was led by Officer Mir Sajid, In-Charge of Police Post Uroosa, with support from personnel of the Border Outpost (BOP) Asham. The team systematically uprooted and destroyed the illicit vegetation to prevent its potential misuse.
This initiative is part of a broader campaign by the Jammu and Kashmir Police to combat drug abuse and its associated societal impacts. Similar efforts have been reported in other parts of the region,
Authorities have announced that these eradication efforts will continue in the coming days, aiming to eliminate sources of narcotic substances and raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.
