Baramulla Administration Issues Weather Advisory Ahead of Snowfall
The District Administration Baramulla on Monday issued a weather advisory following a forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Srinagar, which predicts heavy snowfall in higher reaches and light snowfall or rain across Jammu and Kashmir from December 29 to December 31, 2025.
As per the advisory issued by the Office of the Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and District Magistrate Baramulla, residents of vulnerable areas, especially those living near slopes and higher reaches, have been advised to avoid unnecessary movement until weather conditions improve.
The administration has directed all line departments, including Revenue, Health, Police, SDRF, Mechanical Engineering Department (MED), Public Health Engineering (PHE), Roads & Buildings (R&B), PMGSY and KPDCL, particularly those involved in snow clearance and winter preparedness, to remain on high alert.
Departments have been instructed to ensure the availability of manpower and machinery at designated locations, while concerned staff have been directed to remain present throughout the advisory period.
