Tral, 16 December: The residents of Baragam and Nagapathri villages of Tral subdivision in South Kashmir have been complaining of poor cellular connectivity in their areas for a long time.
The aggrieved customers told Arising State that they have been facing a lot of inconvenience in absence of network connectivity for several years, with no intervention from anyone.
A local resident from Baragam village has said that telecommunication companies failed to install any tower in the village, despite back to back pleas to the concerned representatives.
He said that all the problems would have been solved, had telecommunication companies installed a tower here to ensure network connectivity.
Similarly, the residents of Nagapathri hamlet in the upper reach of Tral have said that “when in almost every area’s network connectivity is working smoothly, this area still lacks basic cellular service”.
The residents usually ‘move out to make a phone call, as the phones usually remain out of service’, when they stay indoor.”
They said that they have many times requested concerned authorities to look into the matter and ensure network connectivity, but their “pleas fell on deaf ears”.
The residents of both these villages have appealed to the concerned authorities of private telecom operators including Airtel & Jio to set up cellular towers in the area.
