Banihal:  National Conference leader and District President, Ramban Haji Sajjad Shaheen has expressed grave concern over erratic power and drinking water supply besides the lack of basic amenities in far-off areas of the Banihal Assembly Constituency. While addressing a well-attended gathering in village Chanjloo in Banihal constituency, Shaheen decried the neglect of the local former Congress MLA, saying due to misrepresentation the entire Banihal constituency has been completely ignored as the two time former MLA  has proved a disaster for the majority of the people living in this backward constituency. He said the road network is also in a dilapidated condition that has impacted the mobility and added to the miseries of the people. The District President urged the R&B Department for clearing the hurdles on Chanjloo-Gujjarnar road and demanded the extension of road link from Chanjloo to Naikpora and Zohdapora so that major chunk of the leftover population also gets road connectivity. Shaheen also drew the attention of the state administration towards deficiencies in education and health sectors and sought electrification of leftover villages and speeding up construction work on PHC at Chanjloo village.

Shaheen lashed out at the former local Congress MLA for not taking any major initiative in the development front that could have provided relief to people especially living in remote areas. “While one visits any area of Banihal Constituency, one gets a clear picture of how Banihal Constituency has been ignored by the authorities and casual approach of the former MLA, he added. He said that Banihal constituency has witnessed very little development on every field for the last decade which has resulted in Banihal Constituency lagging behind on development front. While welcoming large number of Congress  workers especially Youth in the party fold, Shaheen said, “That the people have realized that National Conference is the only party that can address social, political and economic aspirations of not only people living in constituencies  like Banihal but all the three regions of the state as has been observed during our frequent tours to various areas of Banihal Constituency where large number of political workers and prominent citizens have been continuously joining National Conference since the last two years.”District Vice presidents Mohd Afzal wani, Saif u Din Dar, Chodhry Jamat Ali, Parvez Ahmed Sheikh, Tehsil president Gh Hassan Naik, Block Presidents Haji Abdul Ahad Shan, Riyaz Ahmed Mir Riyaz Ahmed Mir, block Secretary Abdul Jabar Hajam, Office Secretary Abdul Gani Wani, Provencial youth vice president Tariq Ahmed Dar besides youth leaders Mohd Abass Naik, Babar Wani, Mashkoor Rather, Tanvir Dar, Rayees Mir, Mehran Wani besides Habibullah Naik, Abdul Qayoom Zoha, Abdul Rahman Zohada, Nisar Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed, Mohd Amin Wani, Manzoor Ahmed Naik, Mohd Asif, Hayat Ahmed also addressed the gathering.
