Bandipora rape incident: Mirwaiz appeals for unity,vigil against elements, creating sectarian divide
Hurriyat Conference (m) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday appealed the people of Kashmir to maintain unity and vigil in view of the mischievous forces waiting to create a sectarian divide.
Taking to social networking site Twitter, Mirwaiz wrote: “Fervent Appeal to all people of Kashmir to maintain unity and vigil, especially in view of mischievous forces waiting to create a sectarian divide out of this most reprehensible crime against a child which is indeed a crime against all humanity. All of Kashmir stands in unison.”
“Demanding sternest punishment against the brute perpetrator,” he tweeted.
Police have already arrested the accused, a resident of Malikpora Trigam Sumbal.
Massive protests have erupted in Kashmir with the people demanding a speedy trial of the case.
Various political and social-religious parties have condemned the incident and demanded stern action against those who are responsible for the act.
