Badam Vaer opens for Public amid Pink Almond bloom , Noon chai

March 21,Sunday :Every year, the cold of winter melts away and spring brings a new beginning.  Winter is over,spring has finally arrived following rush of people in gardens and parks around. In Sringar the famous Badamvaer was  thrown open for public on Saturday,20 March by tourism dept as a gesture to promote tourism and revive cultural activities in Kashmir .

The aromatic garden ,located in the foothills of historic Koh-e-Maraan in Srinagar city,is famous for almond bloom and is also known as ‘Badamvaer’. As the tourism department organised a colourful cultural  programmes at Badamvaeri on Saturday to announce that the garden will be open for the general public from March 21, a local club namely street fighters club under the chairmanship of Sajjad Mir organised a small tea party in the pink garden early morning today in a bid to promote the culture of fitness and well being among youth.

Dr khurshid Nadvi ,a member of the club while speaking to Arising state correspondent said that they organised a get together ,early morning with locals in an an aim to cultivate a culture of daily exercise among children as well as common masses. He said .” we have been observing people getting addicted to phones and TV ,drug menace is adding to the worries of parents , through this programme,we want to send a message across that early morning exercise can help our youth to incalculate good habits in them. Early morning exercise maintains our physical, mental, and social well-being. Ultimately, it’s the key to living a productive and satisfying life,”he said.

The spring festival at Badamvaer isn’t new and has been there for decades. Scores of people were seen carrying samavors of Noonchai and snacks and enjoying the scenic beauty of the garden. Not only locals ,but few tourists were also seen enjoying the early morning view and taking selfies .
