Awantipora Police organises Seminar on Drug Abuse

Awantipora, 19 Dec: As a part of anti-drug drive week from 15th to 22nd December 2020, Awantipora Police on Saturday organised a seminar on drug abuse at Govt Degree College Tral in order to create awareness among the college-going youth and the general public against drug abuse and its growing menace.

An awareness programme was organized at Degree Collage Tral in which Principal Govt Degree College Tral, SDPO Tral, SHO Tral, Medical Officer from Sub. District Hospital Tral, Drug Inspector, and Chairman Citizens Council Tral spoke about the menace of drug abuse and its ill effects on the health of an individual and society as a whole.

While speaking on the occasion SDPO Tral described the drug menace as an epidemic that is spoiling the future of the Nation as a termite and sought the help of the youth to create awareness among all.

The students were briefed about the early symptoms of drug abuse which parents should keep watch of
so that they can maintain check at home.

The programme was conducted in a very cordial environment followed by an interactive session in which some students also shared their views about the ill effects of drug abuse.

The Seminar was followed by anti-drug abuse rally from Main Market Tral to Batnag Tral.
