Awantipora Police arrests two more drug peddlers, Cannabis and Cash recovered

Awantipora 24 Dec: Continuing its drive against the Drug peddlers and their propagators, Awantipora Police arrested two more drug peddlers from the Reshipora area on Thursday.
As per the police press release, issued to the Arising State, “Acting on information Awantipora Police placed a special Naka at Reshipora near Panzgam Dogripora Crossing and arrested two drug peddlers with contraband substance and 96,000 rupees.”
The arrested peddlers have been identified as: Maqsood Ahmad Lone S/O Farooq Ahmad Lone R/O Check Rajpora and Mohammad Ayoub Khan S/O Bashir Ahmad Khan R/O Khankah Awantipora.
The police press release reads that “15 Kgs of contraband substance ground Cannabis and Cash amount of Rs 96,000(Ninety-Six Thousand only) was recovered from the possession of arrested persons boarding in the said vehicle.”
“Vehicle GETZ bearing registration number DL3CAL-3718 used in the commission of the said crime has also been seized.”
An official said that during on spot questioning of the arrested duo admitted that the seized money pertains to the proceeds of the narcotic substances.
Case FIR Number 196/2020 under relevant sections of NDPS law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.
Police requested people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood and “persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly under law.”
