Awantipora: Goripora residents demand repairs to village’s link roads
BASHARAT RASHID
Awantipora, 14 June: The residents of Goripora village in Awantipora tehsil of South Kashmir have expressed resentment over the dilapidated condition of link roads in their area.
The aggrieved residents assembled on Monday and staged a silent protest demonstration against govt for failing to repair the link roads in the said village.
As per locals, the bad condition of village’s link roads leave people in several problems, as the rainy water usually inundate roads, thereby making it difficult for people to travel on these roads.
They said that they raised the issue with higher ups in Pulwama several times, with no concrete step taken by the authorities so far, in repairing the roads.
They further said that encroached land should also be freed from all the encroachers in the area.
The residents sought intervention of concerned officials into the matter, and demanded immediate repairs to all the link roads.
