Awantipora, 15 May:  Amid the pandemic, the pathetic condition of roads is adding to the woes of residents. Despite the huge outcry by residents of Arampora hamlet in the Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the bad condition of the Arampora road, it remains unmotorable and the condition has worsened.

It becomes difficult even for light motor vehicles to negotiate through the stretch. “Despite several reminders to the concerned authorities in the past, nothing has happened.  It is sad to note that the main route like this is continually being ignored by the authorities,” said a resident, who frequents this route.

The residents said, “villagers face difficulties while travelling on this road, which originates from Tral-Awantipora road to Khankah via Arampora, as the condition of the road is pathetic.

One of the residents said that during winters or rainy season the locals face hardships and use alternative ways to reach the destination.

The residents have demanded repair work to the village’s main road that has been giving tough time to the inhabitants of the village.

The residents appealed to higher authorities to look into the matter and ensure repairing of road in the village.
