Anantnag police arrests bootlegger, recovers illicit liquor

Police in Anantnag arrested a bootlegger and recovered 45 bottles of illicit liquor.A police party of Police Station Anantnag headed by DO Police Post Bus stand  at a checkpoint established near Post Office Anantnag intercepted one person identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Shah son of Ghalum Qadir Shah resident of Lok Bawan Larkipora. On checking, 05 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Anantnag where he remains in custody.A case FIR number 90/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Anantnag and investigation was initiated.During the course of investigation, it was learnt that he has kept illicit liquor at his rented house located at Chee area of Anantnag.  The team raided the location and recovered 40 more bottles of illicit liquor in presence of a magistrate.Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding anti social elements in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in anti social activities will be dealt as per law.
