Tral, 5 Jan: While the nook & corner of Kashmir valley received snowfall for the third consecutive day, the power outage in Tral sub division of South Kashmir in Pulwama district continued to irk the people here.
A group of locals in Tral have said that they haven’t seen electricity since Sunday morning, due to which they suffer, as the snow is accumulated everywhere.
They said that electricity in many areas were restored by the PDD, ‘but some areas are still in darkness, and are yearning to see’ the power supply back.
The residents sought intervention of concerned officers and demanded that all the lines should be restored.
An official in the sub district has said that efforts are going on to restore the electricity in Tral areas.
He said that they have already restored hospital feeder, New Takiya Batagund feeder, and Satoora feeder upto Daramgund link set.
The official added that PDD team is on the ground to restore other lines including 33 KV at Chewa Receiving Station and Tral town.
Reports said that snow on several roads in Tral and adjoining areas are yet to be cleared, due to which people face hardships.
It’s pertinent to mention here that due to the heavy snowfall “no flight could take off or arrive at the Srinagar international airport due to poor visibility, while Jammu-Srinagar highway also remained closed for the third consecutive day due to continuous accumulation of snow at several places.”
