Amarnath Yatra: Lone bread earner of family lost his life while saving a yatri at Panjtarni Pahalgam

Pall of gloom descends in the village after his dead body reaches home.

Leaves family in shock,  old age parents including his blind father, a mother, wife and 9 months old son.

Anantnag: 22 year old Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan hails from Chaklipora Chittergul Shangus area of Anantnag District lost his life on Thursday evening while saving a Yatri who was on a horse towards Amarnath Cave here at Panjtarni area of Pahalgam in south kashmir’s Anantnag District.

According to reports the horseman imtiyaz Ahmad Khan was on way with yatries towards Amarnath Cave and a yatri was on his horse when he reached Panjtarni area of pahalgam he slipped in a deep gorge and died on spot.

The 22 year old Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan married two year back and has a 9 months old kid, Imtiyaz leaves behind his old age parents his wife, a younger brother and three unmarried sisters.

Khan was a lone bread earner of his family while his father is suffering from blindness and is visually impaired. His seventeen year old younger brother is studying in class 10th.

Khan was living with his family in a dilapidated house, the house had three rooms, one room was used for the kitchen.

According to the residents of the village the deceased imtiyaz Ahmad Khan was very sincere and gentleman. He was much known in the village for his sincerity; the villagers appealed to the LG administration for compensation or job to his family so that his family would survive.

During the incident Khan has lost all his documents including his wallet and license.

However the district Administration Anantnag sanctioned Rs one lakh in favor of the deceased horse man and expressed gratitude towards the deceased for his service, reads a statement issued in the office of deputy commissioner Anantnag. The district commissioner conveyed sympathy with the bereaved family and recalled his service in line of smooth conduct of shri Amarnath Yatra. Statement reads.
