Aam Aadmi Party urges LG to give free power, water or face public fury

Aam Adami Party (AAP) vice president Jammu-Poonch Parliament Constituency, Rajesh Gupta urged J&K Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to declare free water and electricity in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory with immediate effect or face the public fury he said. Gupta while addressing to media today appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to stop giving bills of electricity and water from today till government of J&K announce free power and water to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

AAP leader also assured people of Jammu and Kashmir that AAP takes the responsibility to fight for the people of J&K UT for power and water bills till government announce it totally free. He said, students, farmers and industrialists are the major sufferers. Gupta while attacking defunct BJP Ex MLA’s and current leadership never came forward to ask about the sufferings of people which they were facing since BJP’s tenure.

Rajesh Gupta further said,” Jammu and Kashmir has the potential to generate about 20,000 MW OF Hydropower (11,283 MW in Chenab basin, 3,084 MW in Ravi and 1,608 MW Indus. He said our government is selling the electricity to other states and charging bills from J&K public which is not tolerable. Gupta warned a mass agitation if electricity and water is not declare free in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory

AAP leader said our UT has many resources to produce more and more electricity. But it is very unfortunate the region has the potential to generate about 20,000 MW of hydropower, creating countless jobs and numerous avenues for skill development..He said that Delhi CM ArvindKejriwal offered free electricity upto 200 units, free water upto 20,000 litres, quality health services in government hospitals and quality education in government institutions to one and all.

The AAP leader cautioned the countrymen to reject the spent forces which exploited and deceived people in last 74 years and divided people for vote bank politics thereby weakening the unity and integrity of the nation.He claimed that the government is duty bound to take initiatives for the welfare of people, especially in a situation like post-COVID era.“People must be given respite under these disastrous circumstances,” he maintained.
