Two days ahead of daughters marriage, family lost everything in fire mishap at kokernag Ichoo.

Anantnag, 11 Nov :A family whose home goes up in flames may lose everything, but our simple act of kindness can help them to make it safely and comfortably through the next days, weeks, and months.  A similar act of benevolence was witnessed when an Indian army of 19 RR took immediate steps to support and assist survivors who lost everything to fire, including their house by providing them Rs 50000 and some blankets and other house holding items.

In an unfortunate incident of fire, a poor family from Ichoo Kokernag lost everything including a house in a short circuit fire mishap, two days ahead of daughter’s marriage, in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.

Sources said that a residential house belonging to late Mohd Akbar Chad resident of Ichoo Kokernag was completely damaged after a fire broke out in a single-storey house on Thursday at midnight.

The village falls in the far-flung area of kokernag and is about 30 km from the main town Anantnag. The village is located on foothills in Ichoo village of kokernag where firefighters could not reach in time due to the non-availability of road. Locals said that due to inadequate road and area being far-flung creates an impedance for vehicles to move.

Talking to Arising State Sakeena wife of Late Mohd Akbar said,”I lost everything in the blaze and have no idea, how soon I will recoup to normal life.  She added that two days ahead her daughter was scheduled to get married, but this tragic incident has shattered the dreams of her family.

Sakeena not only lost household items but also lost all the earnings including the items which she had purchased for the marriage of her daughter.

A few years back Sakeena’s husband died due to an illness at her native village in Ichoo kokernag. Sakina was living with her younger son and daughter in the house.
