Srinagar 03,Nov: A large number of Medical Assistant holders and students in Kashmir valley have been demanding registration and licensing for the past one year.
A group of such diploma holders said, “more than a year has passed, but medical assistant/pharmacists are still waiting for the justice, as no one is listening to our legitimate demands, pertaining to the registration process”
They said that “recently the Pharmacy Council of India amended the J&K Pharmacy Act 2011 but, unfortunately, it secured the future of only those people, who were registered under J&K pharmacy act, with most of them don’t possess any qualification, thereby leaving more than 20,000 students dismayed, who completed their Medical Assistant/ Pharmacist Diploma or are still pursuing.”
“We are surprised that why we were ignored and what was our fault, as we also did our diplomas under the J&K Pharmacy Council Act 2011. This decision has lead anger and frustration among all of us,” a medical assistant diploma pass out told Arising State.
He said that Hon’ble High court has given orders to the concerned authorities to consider their issue within two months, but on the ground level, we didn’t notice any kind of progress regarding this issue.”
A written statement issued to Arising State by the JK Medical Assistant/Pharmacist Association reads, “It’s very unfortunate that 20,000 youth from J&K are neglected at the Pharmacy council, due to which the future of 20,000 students is at stake and pharmacy council is least interested to get them registered.”
The association has humbly requested the UT administration particularly the hon’ble LG, PCI, and J&K pharmacy council to come forward to save the future of 20,000 youth and their families.
