POLICE MARTYRS MEMORIAL CRICKET TOURNAMENT-2020 CONCLUDES IN DISTRICT KULGAM

Kulgam: 01 November 2020:

The closing ceremony of Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament-2020 held in Sports Stadium Kulgam. The Tournament was organised by District Police Kulgam under the civic action Programme in memories of the Martyrs who laid down their supreme sacrifices while safeguarding the Unity and Integrity of the Nation.

The final match of the Tournament was played between Manzgam Cricket Club and Qaimoh Cricket Club. Batted first Manzgam Cricket Club scored 133 runs, chasing the target Qaimoh Cricket Club easily managed to score 134 runs with eight wickets in hand. Aadil Ahmad(Aadil Lefty) of Qaimoh Cricket Club was adjudged as Man of the series for his all-round contribution in all formats of the game throughout the tournament and Mujeeb Ahmad of Qaimoh Cricket Club who took a brilliant Hatrick and restricted the Manzgam Cricket Club from scoring big was declared as man of the match.

Superintendent of Police Kulgam Shri. Gurinderpal Singh-IPS graced the occasion as chief guest. Officers including, DYSP HQRs Kulgam Shri. Ghulam Mohd Bhat-JKPS, DYSP DAR Kulgam Shri. Sheikh Tahir Amin-JKPS, SHO Kulgam Insp. Davinder Singh were present on the occasion.

In final ceremony held teams were awarded a cash prize, trophies, and medals to boost their morale. SP Kulgam while interacting with participants congratulates for their extraordinary efforts put forth by them with which they managed their places in the grand final of the tournament and assured them that Kulgam police is always at their doorsteps for any assistance. Speaking on the occasion he laid emphasis on the importance of organising such events for generating gestures of goodwill and enhance sportsmanship to promote budding talent such a platform so that they can exhibit their talent in a positive direction. While interacting with media persons SP Kulgam assured that more such events will be organized in the future as well.

A large number of people were present on the occasion to witness the event and expressed their gratitude towards Kulgam police and appreciated their role to channelize the energy of the youth of the district towards sports and other constructive activities.
