Panjpora Bijbehara Incident: Anantnag District Magistrate orders inquiry

Anantnag 28, October: The District Magistrate Anantnag KK Sidha has ordered an inquiry in the incident, wherein a four-year-old boy was drowned in spring in Astanpora Panjpora area of Marhama Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The preliminary inquiry conducted into the matter reveals that the borewell has been dug by Geology & Mining Department way back and has been left unattended and uncovered, due to which a precious life was lost, order copy reveals.
In order to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future, and to fix the responsibility, it is necessary and expedient to conduct an in-depth inquiry into the matter.
In view of the above, it is hereby ordered that Sub- Divisional Magistrate, Bijbehara shall conduct an in-depth inquiry regarding the issue and fix the responsibility, if any, and suggest measures for avoiding such incidents in the future. The inquiry report should reach this office within 10 days positively order copy reveals.
The boy identified as Zubair Ahmad sheikh son of Gh Hassan sheikh resident of Astanpora Marhama Bijbehara accidentally fell into a spring when he was riding his bicycle on road.
Soon after the incident the family and neighbors of the boy started a rescue operation and removed him from spring.
The boy was shifted to SDH Bijbehara where doctors declared him brought dead.
