South Kashmir: 01 militant killed in Tral gunfight, operation on

Srinagar, October 26: 01 militant has been killed in an ongoing Encounter in Noorpora area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday evening.

A senior police officer told that one militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter, however, the identity of the militant is yet to be ascertained.

Reports reaching  Arising state said that a joint team of Police and army’s 42RR launched a cordon and search operation in Noorpora.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.

A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of gunfire between militants and government forces and said the gunfight is underway.

Earlier today General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps Lieutenant General BS Raju appealed to local militants to “switch-off” the path of militancy or face tough action from the Army.
