Decks cleared for installation of 3 Tesla New MRI machine in GMCH

Jammu: The Government Medical College, administration today said that the decks have been cleared for installation of 3 Tesla New MRI machine in the GMCH.The long-pending issue regarding the installation of 3 Tesla New MRI machine at Government Medical College Jammu has been resolved, after newly appointed  Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu, Dr. Shashi Sudhan  issued standing directions to Medical Superintendent, GMCH and HOD Radiology to install the MRI in the Hospital in pursuance to approval granted by the Administrative Department vide letter No. HD/Plan/01/2020 dated 21-10-2020, an official handout stated.Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo, by his visionary and proactive approach, has resolved this long pending issue wherein, 3 Tesla New MRI machine which was awaiting installation at Government Medical College Hospital by the company, who got order through JKMSCL, shall be installed at the earliest. Besides, the Financial Commissioner has  also sanctioned  Rs. 50 crore for procurement of medical equipment including new MRI machine to be installed at Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu as and when procured.This will also help Super Speciality Hospital to cope with the rush of the patients during the COVID Pandemic as well as meet the requirements of various super specialities needing MRI services.Principal, Govt. Medical College, Jammu Dr. Shashi Sudhan extended her sincere thanks to Financial Commissioner and Director Finance Health and Medical Education for resolving the MRI installation issue and further according additional MRI machine for Super speciality, Jammu which will go a long way to curtail the long waiting period for the patients requiring MRI.
