Bootlegger nabbed with 21 bottles of illicit liquor

Samba:Continuing its drive against the menace of illicit trade of drugs and liquor, Samba Police arrested a bootlegger and recovered 21 bottles of illicit liquor at village Govindgarh, Ramgarh.A Police Party of PS Ramgarh while performing routine patrolling duty in Ramgarh area, reliably learnt regarding the sale of illicit liquor at village Govindgarh. At this, said patrolling party raided the spot and apprehended a person red handed who was selling illicit liquor at exorbitant rates to general public near ditch point at village Govindgarh, Ramgarh to gain the illegitimate profit.During frisking of the said person, a total of 21 bottles of JK Special Whisky (01 bottle of 750 ml & 20 bottles 180 ml each) were recovered. The accused person who was identified as Omkar Singh S/o Trilok Singh R/O Govindgarh, Ramgarh was arrested on spot and contraband item was also seized.In this connection, a case FIR No. 106/2020 U/S 48 (f) Excise Act has been registered at PS Ramgarh and investigation started.
