10 Houses gutted in Gurez blaze, 03 completely damaged
Bandipora, Oct 11: At least ten residential houses were gutted in a massive fire, which broke out in baduab Tulail Village of Gurez sub-division in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday.
Soon after the fire incident, the local and Fire tenders rushed to spot to douse the flames.
A police official told a news agency that three houses were completely gutted while seven others were partially damaged in the fire incident.
He said, “However, all the people residing in the houses were evacuated safely and no loss of life or injury was reported”.
He further said that Chimney ‘Bukhari’ is believed to be the cause behind the fire, however, police registered a case pertaining to the incident, and investigations are on.
An Official of Fire and Emergency Services told the news agency that soon after they got information about the fire incident, firefighters were rushed to the spot and after putting in hard efforts, they controlled the fire from spreading further.
Meanwhile, people have appealed to the district administration Bandipora to provide early relief to the victim families of the fire incident.
