Katra Police solves theft case

In continuation of the drive against theft cases in the holy town, Katra Police solved the 75% to 80% of theft cases and recovered stolen items. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic Shops, the Hotels, and other establishments of Katra town remained closed, and taking advantage of the situation, a gang of thieves mostly the drug addicts adopted different modus operandi and conducted various thefts at different places in Katra town. Accordingly, different FIRs were registered at P/S Katra and recovered stolen items time to time. Recently on 26.09.2020, a case FIR No.150/2020 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at P/S Katra. A special team headed by Inspector Sunil Sharma (SHO P/S Katra) under the supervision of Sh. Kuljeet Singh SDPO Katra, Sh. Amit Bhasin JKPS SP Katra & overall supervision of SSP Reasi Smt. Rashmi Wazir JKPS was constituted. Further, Katra Police swung into action and intensified night patrolling’s to check this menace, after making best efforts, Katra Police succeeded in solving the theft case after apprehending 02 thieves namely 1. Kaku Ram 2. Munna @ Sonu both sons of Bittu Ram R/O Serbad Tehsil Katra Distt. Reasi and recovered stolen 03 no bys. of VIVO & Redmi mobile phones from their possession.

The approximate value of the recovered phones is Rs.20.000/-
