Jammu:The poor public of Panchayat  Joura Kalan in Tehsil Kahara of District Doda has witnessed great discrimination in many sectors but in Education Sector, the situation is worst. The lone Govt. Girls School Joura Kalan opened in the area about 55 years back, has not seen the attention of education authorities in terms of Up-gradation. Other similar Institutions opened in the area, namely in Village Kencha, Joura Khurd, Tanta, Kahara, Nandana, Dadi Kathava etc, have been upgraded to Hr. Secondary Schools or High Schools but Govt. Girls School Joura Kalan has hardly been granted Middle School few years back despite the fact that there is huge strength of girl students available and more to this, there are 4 middle schools, (Middle School Kunthal, Middle School Suranga, Middle School, Budhi & Middle School Shamdlian) around Govt. Girl Middle School Joura Kalan  , which can become the feeding schools in case the present Govt. Girls Middle School Joura Kalan is up-graded to Girls High School.  In absence of this, the poor girls have to travel a distance of 4 to 5 kms on foot for higher education. Mostly, because of this handicap, the dropout percentage of girls has increased manifold.Anil Kumar, Sarpanch Panchayat Joura Kalan & Mr. Ashok Kumar, Panch ward No.7, Pyt. Joura Kalan in a joint statement issued here said that there is strong resentment against the successive Governments and the authorities for the neglect & step motherly treatment with Panchyat Joura Kalan of Kahara Block. They said that there is urgent need for up-gradation of the oldest Govt. Girls middle School Joura Kalan to High School, as has been done with other Schools mentioned above opened in the even period, So that poor girl students of the area do not feel hardships on this account and are compelled to abandon their studies for no fault of their part. They further appealed to the Governor to up-Grade the oldest Health Sub-Centre Joura Kalan to PHC. They said that the Joura Kalan Health Sub- centre is functioning in a rented building since last 45 years, but till date neither the government building has been constructed nor this Health Sub-centre has been up-graded to PHC, which is very injustice with these poor people of the area. They further said that the Indent regarding the Jai to Suranga Morh project for compensation etc have already been sent to the office of Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B), Jammu by the concerned Executive Engineer PWD (R&B spl. Sub-Division) Gandoh (Bhalessa), No:- EE/PWD/SSDG/203-05, dated:-19-04-2019, through Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B) Circle Doda, So it is requested your good self to kindly issue direction to the concerned for approval of the indent so that the road is completed up to Joura Kalan village from Suringa Morh after payment of the compensation. The road stretch from Suringa Morh to Joura Kalan is ready on both ends of these houses yet only due to their not agreeing to demolish the houses, no vehicle is able to reach Joura Kalan village.  Moreover the work on the road from Joura Kalan to Lower Shamdlian (JAI to Suringa Morh road), which is 1.5 Km stretch only, May kindly be started on war footing & completed before snowfall. It is hoped that you will kindly look into the matter personally & issue directions to the concerned authorities for taking immediate action in the construction of work beyond Joura Kalan to Lower Shamdlian in the larger interest of the poor villagers who have pinned high hopes with your good self as the only & sole authority of justice & also provide electric line & connections to S/T village Kunthal & S/C village Suranga of Joura Kalan Panchyats. These two villages are without electricity even after 72 years of Independence which is very injustice with the people of these wards of Panchyat Joura Kalan.
