Anantnag 07,2020: The residents of the Gousia colony, Dialgam area of Anantnag District have been reeling under complete darkness due to the dysfunctional transformer in the area.

The inhabitants of this area have been left on God’s mercy as the Power Development Department authorities have failed to repair their damaged transformer that developed a technical snag five times in ten days.

According to inhabitants of the colony, the transformer was neither replaced nor any step was taken to fix the issue.  “We are suffering immensely due to the non-availability of electricity,” said residents.

‘It is very difficult to explain, how we are living our lives in darkness, the absence of a transformer has made our lives miserable’ explained aghast residents.

The residents said the non-availability of electricity is adversely affecting all the sectors be it education, business, etc.

The people of the area said that they made repeated pleas to the senior functionaries of the PDD urging them to cut some households in the colony and keep them on another 63 kv transformer which is installed in another colony and catering only 12 households so that the load will be reduced, but our pleas are being ignored said Abdul Rasheed a local resident.

‘Our repeated pleas have fell on deaf ears and the concerned authorities are indifferent to our grievances,” the locals complained .

The residents have appealed the district administration as well as the officials in the PDD department to look into the matter at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Arising State correspondent was informed  by the  Exen PDD Anantnag ,Khursheed Ahmad for speedy  redressal of the problem .
