Tral,05 Oct: Wastoorwan meadow is located between the mountains of Tral and Awantipora, some 35 km from the capital Srinagar at an altitude of about 3500 meters above sea level. The meadow can be reached through several tracks via Khrew, Awantipora, and from many villages of Tral town most notably from Gulshanpora and SyedAbad Pastuna. One can easily reach the meadow by hiking for about 3-4 hours. Wastoorwan offers a variety of views of Kashmir valley. The views of two ends of the valley (the Pir panjal range and the Himadri or Greater Himalayan range) can be enjoyed from Wastoorwan. Many of the towns like Tral, Awantipora, Pulwama, Pampore etc are also visible from the meadow.
