After SC directions, PDP leaders again seek permission to meet Mehbooba Mufti
Senior Party leaders of the People’s Democratic Party today again sought permission from District Magistrate Srinagar to meet the party president Mehbooba Mufti in the backdrop of Supreme Court directions.
According to KNS, a letter addressed to district Magistrate Srinagar from G N Janjira, Abdul Rehman Veeru, Muhammad Khurshed Alam and Ajaz Ahmed Mir reads “Since August 5, 2019, our party president Miss Mehbooba Mufti is under detention. While her place of detention has been changed to Fairview, despite repeated requests, we have not been allowed to meet her. We have not had a chance to enquire about the well being of our party president and have discussions about pertaining to party affairs
The last request was made to your office on 31-8-19 but we are still waiting for permission.”
The letter also reads that in light of the directions of the court, we hereby renew our request to allow us to meet Mehbooba Mufti at the designated sub-jail, Fairview Gupkar. We believe that denial of such permission will hereon be in contravention of the SC order
