An important meeting of the National Sikh Front was held at Nanak Nagar, Jammu under the Chairmanship of S. Varinderjeet Singh.  In the meeting, the matter relating to illegal and forceful occupation of the land at Gurudwara Yaadgar Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu was discussed. While addressing the meeting, Chairman of the Front S. Varinder Jeet Singh said that the land of Gurudwara Yaadgar Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji which is in several kanals of area has been illegally and forcefully occupied by JDA and other influential people of the city and this land scam should be properly investigated by sitting Judge of the High Court. He said that with the land of Gurudwara Sahib there was many kanals of land, the record of which is present with the revenue department. JDA has made a market in front of the gate of Gurudwara Sahib from which JDA gets lakhs of rupees every year as rent. JDA with revenue department together has given the land to hotel owners and other influential people of the city. Gurudwara prabandak Committees have written several times to  the Government about getting the land back but the Govt. has never listened to them.JDA does not have any work to do these days, therefore they are now occupying the land which belongs to religious minority community and increase their income, the latest example being of Panjwakhtar Mandir land which was given to Natinoal Highway authority to make a parking and increase the income of JDA.   And on the other hand JDA never does anything to recover the land which is illegally occupied by majority community of J&K in Gol Gujral, Sunjwan, Belicharna etc.S. Varinderjeet Singh said that he has written a letter to Lt Governor  Manoj Sinha about this and has looked for time to meet him. He has appealed to Lt Governor that the illegal occupation of Gurudwara land should be removed and the land be given to Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee. If J&K UT Govt does not do this, the Sikh will have to do a agitation regarding this.Others who attended the meeting S Kulwant Singh Bhatti, President, Gurdyal Singh Bali, General Secretary, S. Ramnik Singh, Amandeep Singh, Mohinder Singh Ex IAF Officer, Surinder Singh of Kathua and G.S. Sudan.
