Dir Horticulture Visits Shopian, passes Direction to Horticulture Field staff aware public for scientific & proper method

At the time when the Harvest season of Horticulture Crops are very close , director Horticulture Kashmir Ajaz Ahmad Bhat visited shopian and advocated for proper scientific methods of harvest. Director Horticulture said that the professional way of harvesting has a direct impact on next years crop. So professional harvesting is important and while harvesting every fruit has to be taken proper care of and care should be taken not to destroy buds of other plants. Further, he passed direction to field staff that they need to aware public regarding advanced scientific harvesting so that the future crops may not get affected.

He also visited Haripora ImamSahib Fruit Nursery and took stock of situation of fruits  regarding the procurement of apple and other fruits. He interacted with fruit growers and discussed various issues. He advised the farmers to ensure proper grading of their produce to fetch a remunerative price.

The farmers put forth various issues before the Director and urged for their immediate redressal. He assured to examine and address all the genuine issues on priority

Further, Director Horticulture while talking to this reporter said that Central and State Govt are very Serious and cautious to boost apple industry in Valley and he also said that the Fruit Growers have to switch From traditional methods to advanced ones and the Govt is making use of Machinery to create awareness among fruit growers for adopting new technologies in Horticulture and to boost their Economy.

He further added that the proposals of Post entry quarantine Center with all required facilities has been already approved by center Govt and the process of work has begun so as to execute it on the ground level.
