Mega plantation drive organized in Shakti Nagar under “Clean and Green Jammu” initiative

Jammu: Mega plantation drive has been undertaken in Ward No. 33, Shakti Nagar by Hon’ble Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta under the “Clean and Green Jammu” initiative of JMC to enhance the green cover to protect the environment of the city. The plantation drive was started from the A.G office in presence of Xen. (Div. III), Sh. Ashwani Kumar, AEE (Tpt.), Sh.Harvinder Singh, AEE, and JE (Div. III) of JMC and officers/ officials of the Horticulture Section and Health Section. The drive was started on 20.07.2020 from Panjtirthi Jammu with the initiative of Commissioner, JMC Ms. Avny Lavasa, IAS under the overall supervision of Secretary, JMC, Ms. Tinna Mahajan. Hon’ble Mayor started the plantation drive by planting various medicinal, flowering and ornamental plants at A.G. Office, Shiv Nagar area of Shakti Nagar. The basic idea of plantation drive is to restore and noticeably increase green cover in the city over the next few years besides involving the citizens of Jammu in this “Clean & Green Jammu” initiative. Hon’ble Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to all the citizens of Jammu City to come forward and actively participate in the “Clean & Green Jammu” drive to make the drive a great success.
