No lockdown in Srinagar from 6 pm this evening : Govt sources
The authorities on Monday said that there will be no lockdown in Srinagar from 6 pm today “as already notified.”
“I, District Magistrate, Srinagar, by virtue of powers vested in me, under the provisions contained in Section 144 CrPC, read with the Disaster Management Act and The Epidemic Diseases Act, do hereby order complete lockdown, including the closing of all commercial and other establishments, and activities, and prohibitions on public movement in the territorial jurisdiction of District Srinagar w.e.f 8 PM on 22nd July 2020 to 06 P.M. on July 28, 2020,” reads the July 22 order by the Deputy Commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.
When contacted the deputy Commissioner Srinagar told the local news agency that order stands, meaning thereby that lockdown shall continue till “6 p.m. on July 28 i.e today evening.
