Being punished for speaking against GOI’s ruthless actions in J&K: Iltija Mufti

Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today accused Government of denying her permission for a visit to her Grand Father Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s grave in Bijbhehra.
In a tweet, she said, ” Denied permission yet again to visit my grandfather’s grave in Bijbehara by @JmuKmrPolice. Odd that it’s safe enough for other SSG protectees inc 2 EX CMs to make trips to Gulmarg & Pahalgam but a security problem arises only in my case. @Sandeep_IPS_JKP why a different yardstick?”
In another tweet, she wrote, “Citing COVID as a reason is an excuse. I’ve been denied permission since January. I’m simply being punished for speaking against GOIs ruthless actions in J&K. Last I checked it was Ms. Mufti who was detained under PSA, not both of us.”
Accusing government of double standards, she told KNS that, ” They don’t have a problem when BJP leaders from Delhi visit South Kashmir, but somehow my visit to my grandfathers grave is an issue”
When asked whether her security has been downgraded as is alleged by other Politicians, she said, ” No. but I have repeatedly asked them to withdraw it since they have pretty much curtailed my movements.”
